The Story of SPEEDY THE SPIDER

At the back of the wardrobe

A Spider called Speedy

Can't  wait until bedtime

He's really quite needy

He just wants a hug

But he can create dramas

With his eight hairy legs

In his furry pyjamas 

He's got lots of eyes

Six or eight I believe

Two very big ones 

That help him to see

He likes to explore

With his great sense of smell

Even with big eyes

He can't see that well 

He relies on vibrations 

To help get around

And gets so confused

When he's stood on the ground

He just wants some love

So forget that he's hairy

He'll be your best friend

And he's really not scary

Up on the moon he is braver and bold

He's two hundred and seventy thousand years old

He patrols in pyjamas so dashing and fine

The top secret entrance to Luna's cheese mine...
